2007 is a year of auspiciousness for Thai people as our majesty the King has reached his eightieth year of age. In this blessing year, Thai government sets up this typography contest as a celebration to the King. All participants share one topic, ‘Songpracharoen’, which means long live the King. I submit two pieces of work which relate to the King.
The first piece, I take a word ‘Songpracharoen’ and rearrange them into a shape of nine in Thai number. The second piece, I write a word ‘gao’ (nine) to be used as an outline, then, I paste a word ‘Songpracharoen’ all over the area of the word ‘gao’.
